For many of us, our daily experience is overshadowed by “negative” emotions such as anxiety, depression, anger, resentment or rage. We are taught early on that certain feelings and ways of expressing are not acceptable, so we stuff them down or avoid speaking our truth. In doing so, we cut off emotional flow, maybe even to the point of numbing out.
